Spruce Grouse

Taken at Tahquamenon Falls State park in Michigan's upper peninsula. We were hiking the Clark lake loop trail when this female Spruce grouse charged us. We had inadvertently walked between her and a chick, I never got a good look at the little ones but mom made quite the show trying to move us along. This was taken after the mom and chick had been reunited, she relaxed and moved up into this spruce to keep an eye on us.
