Fishing is a way of life in the low country of South Carolina. The subject of this portrait was fishing and crabbing in a river marsh located near the small railroad village of Yemassee, SC just off of Old Sheldon Church Road. She was one of several family members who were lucky enough to catch enough fish for supper.
