Taken in March of 2012, this photograph captures a relatively calm and reflective moment in the lives of two preening Snowy Egrets who are in the throws of breeding season. These egrets are part of a large flock located at Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge near Hilton Head Island, SC.
