Innocent paradox

We rode our bikes intermittently from Hoi An to Dalat, a total of 600 kilometres through central Vietnam. This was our very last village before driving the last few kilometres to our final destination. Two young, presumably innocent boys, playfully symboling a gun and a peace sign with their hands, side-by-side. I don't know how best to describe it: Peace after war, peace and war. Bubbling ambition and comfort. Capitalism and communism. It just seems like it is the best country in which this picture could have been taken.
Location: Countryside, Central Vietnam
