The dancer Tlakatecolotl, in a quiet moment before a public performance at the Monterey Bay Aquarium's “Fiesta del Mar.” He is part of the Aztec dance collective Yaocuauhtli, based in Salinas, California. Members of the group adhere closely to every formal aspect of their ancestor's rituals in dance, through prayer, and in their own conduct, including making almost all elements of the regalia they wear by hand.
