This is a Prothonotary Warbler. These warblers like to hang out in the swamp and this one was sitting on a tree branch that was full of spider webs which was perfect. This particular one has a few bands on its legs (two on each actually). A Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) group banded this bird. They have been putting nesting boxes on the rivers in Virginia since 1987 and over 26,000 birds have been raised from the nests in these boxes.
Location: Deep Bottom Park - Virginia
