Nestled In

This broad-billed humming bird has built her nest, laid her two eggs & settled down to incubate them. After her first nest was chopped down from a bush two days before the babies would have fledged, she found branches that couldn't be cut : abandoned electrical wire hanging from a porch ceiling. Resolute, past breeding season, she began again, weathered monsoons & predators, and fledged her clutch successfully. Spiderwebs serve as glue, anchors & ballasts, creating bricolage: construction (as of a sculpture or a structure of ideas) achieved by using whatever comes to hand (or beak & feet)
