Charcoal factory: Life is indeed good

Filipino charcoal worker Ricardo Masecampo, 36, carries his one year old son Jerome after gathering materials to burn for charcoal at the makeshift 'Ulingan' (charcoal) factory in a slum area in Tondo, Manila, Philippines, 22 October 2012. The 15-year-old charcoal-making industry produces 6,000 sacks of charcoal monthly. Charcoal makers earn an average of $140 per month. Around 400 families live in the Ulingan slum area in Tondo, Manila. Residents of Ulingan admit that they often get sick from burning wood to make charcoals.
