Five-year-old Manu looks through the ruins of Glen Davis in Australia's Gardens of Stone National Park. Oil was extracted from shale here in the 1940s. Manu is standing at the base of Retort No. 1, where shale was burnt to extract oil gases. The derelict remains of this industrial town are slowly being reclaimed by the surrounding vegetation.
Location: Glen Davis, New South Wales, Australia
