Praying in the Tomb of Salim Chishti

Worshipers in the Tomb of Salim Chishti circle the remains of the Sufi saint who lived from 1478 – 1572. Built by Emperor Akbar in 1580, the tomb is located in the Fatehpur Sikri complex near Agra, India. The women in the back are tying threads to the stone screen hoping for good fortunes in bearing children. Those around the tomb are seeking the blessings of the saint.
