Camping at the sandy entrance to Namib-Naukluft National Park, waking up at 5 in the morning, driving past ostriches and empala to reach dune #45, and trecking up the side of a 560 foot sand dune might seem like too much effort before your first cup of coffee. But not when you see the sun begin to rise. This magical display of ever changing colors, shadows, and light as the desert begins to awaken is a life changing event that happens here every morning. What an honor to be an audience to this silent, sandy masterpiece.
