Each year, for the Meskal, the celebration of the Holy Cross, thousands of pilgrims fill the rock-carved churches of Lalibela in Ethiopia to worship the eight foot-high stone Moses tablets replicas engraved with three ancient languages. The pilgrimage lasts for three days and recovers the spirit of the world's first ethiopian Christian-Orthodox.
Location: Lalibela, Northern Ethiopia
