In the tiny country of Burundi, East Africa, food security is a major concern. While visiting the province of Kayanza, I had the opportunity to view the farming terraces. Much of the hard work is done by woman, digging the soil and harvesting the crops by hand. This young woman was planting corn seeds, her baby wrapped tightly to her back, when she shared a generous smile.
