The Monarch is Resting

Out walking one day, I came across something bright orange sitting on the ground, wings spread wide open. It was a Monarch butterfly, the contrast between the dirt and the beautiful orange was what had caught my eye. The butterfly looked like it had some war wounds and i thought that maybe it was dead. I took my photo and as I started to walk away, it flew off into the trees.
