Secret Surfer

Essaouira is a haven for kitesurfers due to the high volume of wind in the area. However, when the wind drops, the flags stop catching the wind and the surfers hit the waves. This picture captures that moment, along with some of the many contrasting colours that Morocco is famous for, in a setting that many would perhaps not expect from the country. The surfer remains anonymous, hidden behind the flag. This is the way I feel when surfing, alone and nameless, at one with the sea and elements. Bliss.
