Many times have I seen photos of the milky way and wanted to shoot it myself, until I finally made all the calculations, studied the map, and drove 2 hours to reach a suitable location. I put myself in the frame standing opposite the milky way in a pose which can be viewed as defiant, or maybe as admiring. Every viewer can see it differently. residual light from a light on top of an antenna, about 10 kilometers away, worked great to highlight my silhouette.
