Vernazza on October 25, 2011 was severely damaged by an exceptional flood that buried this little village of the famous Cinque Terre under 4 meters of mud. During summer people created a huge Mandala as a ritual of sharing energy. After a short meditation this was destroyed by the same persons walking over it. Thus was born a new design, beautiful and strong as the original. The beauty can be born from destruction. So it was for Vernazza. This photo captures a touching moment, a sweet embrace in the crowd. That woman seen from behind has lost her husband during the flood.
