Dakshinkali Temple is hidden in the forest on the road to Pharping 20 kilometers South of Kathmandu. It is a favorite Hindu pilgrimage destination. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Kali, one of the incarnations of Parvati. Pilgrims bring chickens, ducks, goats, sheeps, pigs in honor of Kali. The sacrifices are religious events of strong spiritual significance for the pilgrims.
