First Sight

We had been hiking in complete darkness for four hours, only able to see as far as our headlamps allowed. When we thought we could not walk any farther in the dark and the cold, the sun and her warmth began to rise. We were finally able to see how much progress we had made towards the summit that moments earlier we had only felt.
