Osprey - Automatic Knives

While visiting one of my favorite Michigan Metro Parks one early morning, several Osprey juveniles were sitting in the nest when all of a sudden, one of the parent Osprey's bolted in my direction emitting a series of excited high pitched warning chirps. The Osprey circled low enough sending me a stern warning. I managed to get a close look at her "automatic knives" (as my wife calls them) of those intimidating, almost hydraulic, mechanical looking talons.
