A photo of a 'moulin' in the Matanuska Glacier in Alaska. A moulin is a hole where melt water seeps through to the inside of the glacier. The walls of ice (towering for a few feet, on either side, above our heads) were actually melting and dripping all around us. The water was then rushing into the large black hole seen in the picture. The blue color of the ice was due to the sunlight -- apparently 'pure' ice looks blue when sunlight falls on it.
