the ancient light

the lano de jable lavafield in this image is covered with black ash pillars. it does not reflect much light. and the milky way light is ancient, but in most parts of the earth destroyed by man made light pollution. thank god, not on the beautiful island of la palma, canary island. the island (together with Tenerife) hosts an Observatory and therefore has a law against light pollution - no direct city lights into the sky allowed. the result: marvelous starry skies and a milky way so bright, that it's being reflected in the aluminum legs of the tripods, at a dark lavafield.
Location: Llano de Jable Lavafield, La Palma, Canary Islands
