Backyard birding

My appearance in the garden frightened these American Gold Finches off of the sunflowers. I decided to set up a blind a distance away and shoot undercover. The long lens shots came out fine, but while doing this I notice how sloppy these pickers were, dropping seeds and stocking piling them on top. With the flowers picked over, the new arrivals would scavenger the ground or from the tops of the flowers. This behaviour gave me a chance to setup with a wide angle lens close to a large flower and wait (in a lawnchair in the garage) with a radio shutter release.
