Leaning Tree Near Idyllwild, CA

Category: Places

Photo and caption by Marcia Gawecki

This tree near Idyllwild, California, shows a tree that is losing its leaves because of fire devestation or because of holly is slowly taking over. It is compromised, but not broken, and strikes a strong silhouette against the bright blue sky and the "halo" of the clouds above. In this rustic mountain community of 3,000, trees live to 200 years old, and they are majestic and worth capturing for posterity.

Location: Idyllwild, California, in the San Jacinto Mountains, above Palm Springs
