Over the Falls

Juevinille Alewife migrating from Mashpee Wakeby pond on Cape Cod to the Atlantic Ocean through a fish ladder. The annual migration happening en masse in the fall takes the fish from their freshwater spawing grounds though shallow streams, rivers and, eventually back to the ocean. Fish ladders allow anadromous fish passage around man made structures such as dams or roads.

Location: Mashpee, MA
