We buried my mother last month during a surprise rain storm in what is usually “sunny Southern California.” Afterwards, our family headed to Newport Beach to eat at one of her long-time favorite restaurants, The Crab Cooker. This place is practically a local landmark and is usually quite busy! As we arrived in Newport, the rain stopped and the sun came out and blessed us with a fabulous day. My niece Hannah is too young to know of the sorrow this day, but her happiness lifted all our spirits. Breadstick anyone?
