The Last Frontier

Photo and caption by Courtney Podvin
I captured this photo while hiking in Kenai Fjords National Park outside Seward Alaska. This ice flow is a part of the vast network of glaciers within the region. When I took the photo I was taken aback by the range of ecosystems I was able to capture in one shot, from dense forest to permafrost mountain peaks. This is my homage to Ansel Adams and his unique ability to capture photos viewers could get lost in. When I look at this photo, I find myself starring at it endlessly, always finding something new.
Location: Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska, USA
