The stone archway preserves ancient writings that overlook the Celsus Library behind it. The Celsus Library is one of the most impressive structures that remains of the ancient city Ephesus, located in the western province of Turkey. The library was built around 135 AD in dedication to Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus. It served to store thousands of scrolls and codexes as well as the tomb of Celsus.
