It's a bit of an illusion, 'cause this Kamodo Dragon was huge, about 2.5m. It came casually out of the low bush and onto the path we followed. Completely unperturbed by us it made its way into a grassy patch at the foot of a knoll and settled down in the sun wearing that big grin, waiting in ambush. They are super chill but hard to spot as they camouflage perfectly into their surroundings, appearing as decomposing palm in the forest or a lump of volcanic rock sitting in the grass.
