I spent the day photographing hummingbirds in a garden in the Santa Cruz mountains. At every feeder the hummingbirds had to battle the bees for a chance to get to the nectar. Sometimes the hummingbirds won. Sometimes the bees won. And sometimes it appeared to be a stand-off.
