Bumpy Pioneer Square

This long exposure illustrates how unstable the ground much of downtown Seattle sits on. These cobblestones were laid in place flat probably around the late 19th century when much of this city was being developed. Since then Seattle has sprung up around them and they have almost a life of their own with the rolling hills. When taking this shot each time a car dove by it shook both me and my tripod just a bit, you can see the bus lights turning right on the left side of the photo. I feared this would turn out too blurry because of that however this was the best picture of the night.
