Muslims are a minority in India, but they gather regularly at their local mosques - some of which rival those in primarily Muslim countries in both size and splendor. It is not unusual to provide a separate space for women to worship, as is depicted in the photo. In a country seemingly filled by constant (and sometimes chaotic) movement, challenges abound for female members of society, who are often left to care for their families while their husbands travel far distances to find employment. Thus, it is beautiful to catch them in moments of quietude like this one.
