Portrait of a long neck Karen girl in a village near the Thailand/Myanmar border. Karen women begin wearing the heavy brass rings around their necks at infancy. Their tradition says that it will protect these women from tigers. More rings are added with age and growth, to put weight on the shoulders and stretch the neck.
Location: Mae Salong, Thailand
