- Raul and Maria were married in 1959, the year of the revolution. They have lived for most of their lives in this tiny apartment in Central Havana. Raul is now blind and Marie spends much of her time looking after his needs. It is now late afternoon and Marie takes a siesta while Raul sits in his rocking chair waiting for her to wake up.

- All the pig's men
- field_caption
- Every year, in early winter, hundreds of pigs are sacrified in 'La Matanza' (the slaughter) in many little towns all over Spain to prepare different kinds of food from them for feeding the rest of the year. That tradition is about to dissapear because young people are moving away from towns to big cities but generations over 40 years old still trying to keep it. In that image, men are trying to keep the pig on the table so the butcher can cut the pig's throat and begin a process that will take two or three days and will involve the whole family.

- The Hamers are a people of East Africa living in the south-western Ethiopia, in a fertile area of the Omo Valley. The gracious Hamer women, freeing pride and dignity even in the midst of the bustling weekly market, are easily spotted with their characteristic outfits. They take pride in their dress and accessories and win the prize as the most decorated of the Omo people. The traditional dress code for unmarried Hamar girls includes elegant cowrie-shell collars, seeded or glass-beaded necklaces and decorated goatskin clothing.

- Rajasthan is undoubtedly the most colorful State of India. Flashing shades on local clothing, bright turbans and saris,... This photo is a series of pic made with nice Indian people that I shoot each against colorful walls on Rajasthan Cities. " Indi GO !!!" could be added to the famous Gandhi quote : "How can we get to know ourselves? Through meditation, never, but by action". Canon 50D - Lens 24/70 Vincent Giot www.vincentgiot.com

- Young Girl Drinking Mares Milk
- field_caption
- Fermented mares milk (Airag) is the traditional national beverage of Mongolia. The amount of milk produced by one mare averages about two litres when milked six times per day, so in order to make enough Airag for the family and any visitors, it is necessary to have at least a dozen mares. To get good quality Airag, it is necessary to stir the milk mix no less than 1,000 times each day! Produced during the summer months in a specially made hide skin bag, fresh Airag is quite mild but if kept for long enough it turns sour and acidic which is how many Mongolian's prefer it.

- This year was the 50th anniversary of the Mt Hagen festival, an annual event held in the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea. It started in 1961 to turn the fighting into a tribal dance competition. Around ten tribes from ten provinces across the country come together for 3 days of song & dance wearing traditional face paint and costume, making it one of the most spectacular cultural festivals in the world. The Emira tribe were one of many proudly displaying their cultural heritage through tribal war dances, chants and mock fighting in the form of a Sing Sing.

- Craftsmen work to repair a piece of tile from the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the repair shop located atop the Temple Mount. For them, it's another day at the office; but for more than a billion Muslims, their work on the holy mosque is sacred.

- Waterfall Fisherman of Si Phan Don
- field_caption
- Around the turbulent waterfalls of Si Phan Don in Southern Laos a select few fisherman risk their lives daily to catch fish from the swollen Mekong River. The fisherman use small bamboo traps to catch migratory fish making their move through the falls. Here the fisherman holds on for his life knowing that one mistake here would result in certain death. The ranging Mekong pulls at his body as his weary arms cling desperately to hold him on the rope. Times like these rely on full concentration and both hands on the rope at a time, any extra luggage has to go in the mouth, knives included.
