- Demul is a village high in the Spiti Valley in the Himalayas at 4270 meters. You can experience Spitian culture through traditional home-stay in Demul. This photo was taken just outside the house where I spent previous night.

- A man pulls his hand cart in the streets of the medina in Essaouira. Hand carts are used to carry goods (from vegetables to tourist's luggages) inside the narrow streets of the medina inaccessible to vehicles.

- It took me a few tries to take this long exposure of Skógafoss, the massive southern Icelandic waterfall, in between the small groups of tourists slowly making their way to its base. While a person certainly would have added some scale to how large the waterfall really is, I wanted the silky sheen of the flowing water to be unobstructed and people-free.

- When the dark falls and tourists rest, the town of Hallstatt comes back to peacefulness. As fog winds around the spire of the famous Parish Church, and the blue tint of the rainy night is decorated by warm light, the town really looks like a fairyland.

- The vibrancy and complexity of civilisation especially manifest within the architectural themes of cities never cease to amaze me. It seems that cities undergo a gradual metamorphosis as they see to redefine themselves in their own unique way. The sculptors that provide the energy behind this change are the various people throughout history and indeed the present that lend their various influences as determined by the period of history and cultural forces at play.
