They're those corners of the world that you just can't get out of your mind. Places so special, or just plain weird, that they take on their own personalities. National Geographic scoured the United States to include just such places in its ZipUSA series.
This month visit Peru, Indiana, where the kids are real-life circus stars.
Other zips in the works range from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where the Strip introduces new urbanites to decades of ethnic variety and great food, to Portland, Oregon, home of the country's biggest urban forest.
