They're those corners of the world that you just can't get out of your mind. Places so special, or just plain weird, that they take on their own personalities. National Geographic scoured the United States to include just such places in its ZipUSA series.
This month visit Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where a special school teaches its Indian students to embrace their heritage. Other zips in the works range from Elko, Nevada, a cow town where the Old West still lives, to Kelly, Wyoming, where an environmental school teaches students about nature and themselves.
